Pollen free lilies (Lilium species) are sometimes prompted as safe for pets or animal friendly. This is not true for cats. It is not just the pollen of lilies that cause kidney injury in cats. Experimental evidence has shown that leaves and petals are also toxic, and it is likely that the whole plant is a risk if eaten by a cat. If you have a cat, keep them safe and avoid all lilies (Lilium species) and day lilies (Hemerocallis species) in your home and garden.
